About us

Built on decades of real drone work

Ascendant AI is built on the founding team's history across DJI, 3D Robotics, Hangar, Guinn Partners, and more than two decades of practical drone, robotics, aerospace, and connected-hardware development.

Through Guinn Partners, the team has helped develop more than 60 products for leading consumer, enterprise, aerospace, robotics, and government-facing brands. That experience, not slideware, is why we can take a drone from prototype to production.

The team

Who does the work

The work is done by people who have taken drones to production before, at the companies that were doing it first.

A product development team, not a staffing pool

Ascendant AI is built around the Guinn Partners product development team and its network across drones, robotics, aerospace, connected hardware, manufacturing and commercialization.

Products that already shipped

The team contributed to products across hardware, robotics, drone and aerospace markets before this company existed, which is a different thing from having opinions about them.

Experience across the whole path

Drone, robotics, aerospace and connected hardware, through manufacturing planning, field operations and productization, which is the part of the path that is hardest to buy.

Relationships, existing and emerging

With drone makers, component buyers, operators of the systems we work on, and domestic manufacturing partners.

Partners

Four kinds of partner, on purpose

A drone that ships needs more than engineers. These are the four kinds of partner the company organizes its network around.

Design partners
Customers willing to co-develop and pilot a product line with us.
Manufacturing partners
Domestic suppliers, fabricators, machine shops, harness shops, foam and composite providers, and contract manufacturing support.
Compliance partners
Advisors and test labs for NDAA, FCC, cybersecurity, Blue UAS, export controls and customer-specific requirements.
Channel partners
Drone makers, integrators, resellers and solution providers who put these products in front of the people flying them.

Where we are

Central Texas, and that is the point

Austin puts us within reach of engineering talent, manufacturing resources, defense-adjacent customers, technology companies, and a robotics and aerospace ecosystem that matters more every year.

How we work

Our AI strategy

We use AI across engineering, manufacturing, and operations so a small, senior team can move like a much larger one.

Invest in the future of all domain solutions

American drone manufacturing is being rebuilt, and the companies that can take a design from concept to domestic production are the ones that will supply it. If that is the position you are looking to back, we would like to hear from you.
