02The industrialization problem

A successful prototype is not yet a successful product.

Here are the top three reasons why.

Prototype to production

The gap between a successful prototype and a manufacturable drone product remains one of the biggest blockers in the market.

Foreign supply chain to trusted supply chain

For government and defense-adjacent customers, “assembled in the USA” is not enough. Critical components, firmware, manufacturing sites, beneficial ownership, cybersecurity practices, and documentation all matter.

One-off design to scalable manufacturing

Companies can often produce prototypes, but struggle when customers ask for repeatable builds, documentation, QA, serial-number traceability, production travelers, inspection plans, calibration procedures, supplier backups, and field-service support.

  2. Prototype
  3. Industrialization GapWhere we work
  4. Mass Production

Industrialization Gap

The gap between a flying prototype and mass production, in the seven places a program falls into it.

  • Incomplete or shifting requirements
  • Late manufacturing decisions
  • Fragile sourcing
  • Missing test and quality systems
  • Inadequate technical documentation
  • Compliance evidence assembled too late
  • No repeatable path from prototype to production

One delivery model

From the first sketch to the hundredth airframe.

One team carries the programme the whole way, so nothing is handed over twice.

03A one stop shop

One team from requirements to production.

We have the experience and proven products across every stage below.

  1. Define

Requirements and success criteria, written down.

  2. Architect

A system architecture, and the risks that go with it.

  3. Prototype

    Integrated prototype and build documentation.

  4. Test

Test reports and a resolved failure log.

  5. Design for Manufacturing

A manufacturing package, a production BOM, and a quality plan.

  6. Low-Rate Production

Support for the first units built to that package, and the record of them.

  7. Scale

A package a domestic partner can build from repeatedly.

Our product line

Built to fly, built to be built.

Our own line of drone products, designed around the parts of the job an operator actually does.

04Advanced Drone Technology

Our Drone Products

Our products are designed to address the core of the drone user experience.

Ascendant AI builds the software-defined technologies behind modern drone systems, from intuitive controller interfaces and resilient radios to intelligent networking and fleet software, connecting operators, aircraft, and real-world performance data into a single learning ecosystem.

Communications
The DUO radio is being built as the communications layer. In development.
Control
The RC7 is designed as the operator-control and mission-management layer. Pilot availability.
Aircraft
The FPV drone kit is being built as the tactical aircraft platform. In development.
Fleet intelligence
MoonTower Analytics provides the fleet intelligence, monitoring, update and recurring-software layer. Available now.

06Why Ascendant

Four things that decide a drone program.

Seasoned drone builders
More than two decades of hands-on product experience.
Two people at a workbench building an FPV quadcopter, one holding a transmitter, a laptop open beside the airframe
Engineering that anticipates production
Manufacturing, sourcing, test, and serviceability considered early.
A machine shop with a technician at a milling machine in the foreground and two others assembling multirotor airframes at a bench behind him
Domestic execution
Austin-based engineering and U.S.-based manufacturing capabilities.
One accountable team
Fewer handoffs between designers, suppliers, manufacturers, and operators.

Before you write

Please do not send controlled unclassified information (CUI), export-controlled technical data, sensitive drawings or anything else your program restricts through the form. Tell us the shape of the problem instead. An NDA and an approved secure file-transfer process are available after qualification, and we will arrange both before you send any of it.

If you are not sure whether something is controlled, treat it as though it is and tell us in general terms instead. We will set up the agreement and the transfer before anything else.
